They say history feeds the future. No present exists without connection to the past, and the future grows from the seeds planted in the present. <All That Photobook> originated from that premise, beginning at the 5th Korea International Photo Festival. Thanks to strong support and cooperation from artists, <All That Photobook> has been successfully organized twice. Research into the history of Korean photography is sorely lacking, and related documents and materials have not been properly preserved or managed. As has been the case in studies of art genres, there have been concerted efforts to improve research into photography. And before it is too late, we have to go back to key moments in the history of our photography and give them their proper due. <All That Photobook> has collected individual photobooks and put them on display, allowing viewers to get a glimpse into photography history. Photobooks are a reflection and production of their time, and they have important historical value that transcends personal merit.
For this year’s 7th Korea International Photo Festival, we will display photobooks about flowers, trees and mountains, all of which have been popular objects among photographers for a long time. We hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity for us to reflect on what nature means to human.
